In-Home Personal Care Services
Personal Care services offer assistance to clients, who have experienced a loss in their ability to perform the activities of daily living, to remain in a safe, clean and healthy home environment.
Personal Care services include, but are not limited to, the following: assisting with eating, bathing, bath equipment, tooth care, grooming, hair care, bowel regularity, transfers, self-administered medication, basic skin care, dressing, emptying or changing external urinary collecting devices, including catheter bags and supra-pubic bags.
It also include: encouraging clients to perform normal body movements, as tolerated; encouraging clients to follow prescribed exercise programs; assisting with prosthetics such as applying/removing/cleaning hearing aids and limbs; assisting with menstrual care; assistance with urinals, bedpans and/or commodes; providing bowel and bladder incontinence care; assisting with positioning in bed, wheelchair and other chairs; and providing colostomy care and emptying ostomy bag.
Companionship / Sitter Services
ompanion/Sitter services include non-medical care, socialization, and basic supervision to ensure a client’s safety and well-being. Companions may provide light housekeeping tasks, which are secondary to the care and supervision of the client.
Companion/Sitter services include the following activities: providing companionship, friendship and emotional support; talking listening, sharing experiences; playing games/cards, reading to client etc.; helping keep clients in contact with family, friends and the outside world; providing transportation to medical appointments, grocery store and errands; accompanying clients to recreational and/or social events; assisting with plans for visits and outings; writing or typing letters/correspondence; organizing and reading mail; planning local trips and out-of-town travel with clients; teaching/performing meal planning and preparation; performing light housekeeping; accompanying client on walks; reminding client to take medication; reminding client to start or finish meals; and, assisting with pet care.
Companion/sitter services shall not include any personal or hands-on care.
Respite & Relief Care Services
Respite care services are services furnished on a short-term basis because of the absence or need for relief of those persons normally providing the care. See In-Home Personal Care Services or Companionship for details.
Before beginning services, Peace Zone Home Care, Inc will discuss with you the appropriate level and frequency of care you require. All our caregivers, regardless of the level of care being provided, perform light daily-living services, such as the preparation of meals, keeping living areas tidy, and laundry.
